Birmingham Games

I was very clear from the beginning that this blog wasn't going to be a results service, but sometimes there's no getting out of it. Mark Lodge emails me this morning with news of the weekend's trip to Birmingham for several of the club's brightest and their results are worth recording here.

This is how they arrived in my in-box:

Fantastic effort and performance by all athletes , well done
So let me echo that. Very well done to all of them. And I bet they had a good day out as well.

Meanwhile, selection for English Schools Cross Country happened this morning round our dining table. Given the weather we've had lately I'm jolly glad I'm not involved with that particular trip. Fortunately it's not in a flooded area and it's not till the middle of March so maybe some water will have drained away by then.

Off to London tomorrow for daughter's birthday. Neither of us can really believe that we are the parents of a forty-year-old.

Giorgio

As a student I worked in a hotel in Devon. We waiters worked in pairs, sharing a work station, and my partner was an Italian called Giorgio....
